Well done to the 36 ladies and two men (in drag) who took part in the ladies sponsored treesurfing event on 8th May. Thanks to your efforts we are on target to raise £4,000 from this event.
Comments we have received are 'that was fabulous', 'I really enjoyed it', 'I'll be coming back again', 'I'm glad I did it but wouldnt do it again', 'if I had known what I had to do, I dont know if I would have signed up to do it', 'never again'!! So, if you like a challenge, visit the Treesurfing Centre at Gulworthy.
Many thanks to all who took part and to Kate and the staff at the Centre at Gulworthy

We are very pleased to announce that today we have reached the £50,000 mark. It has taken us three an a half years to reach this point and our grateful thanks are extended to anyone who has helped in anyway over the past three and a half years and supported our appeal.
We are now in talks with Derriford Hospital who have put a proposal to us on what to spend the money on. We hope that very soon we will have some news for you.
We are continuing to fund raise. Take a look at our events page and see what we have coming up.

Throughout the summer months members of The George Appeal visit Car Boot Sales and sell items that have been donated to the charity. This ensures a regular income for the Charity.
If you have any GOOD QUALITY books, dvd's, shoes, bric-a-brac, jewellery, household items that you would like to donate please give us a call or send an email. We are able to pick up from your house depending on distance.
We must stress that all items MUST be GOOD QUALITY or we will be unable to take them off your hands
Thank you for your support.

It is with regret that the Trustees have to announce that they have had to cancel the proposed Summer Bash to celebrate the charity's third birthday planned for Saturday 8th August. Despite much publicity, little to no interest has been shown in this event.

The trustees are delighted to announce that the appeal has reached £40,000. We have received a generous donation from Western Power Distribution totalling £1,000. This is in recognition of the hard work and commitment show in raising £39,000 in the 2 years and 8 months that the chairity has been up and running.
The Trustees would like to thank Western Power for their support and also take this opportunity of thanking everyone, individuals, groups, organisations who have supported us since the onset of the appeal and we look forward to your continued support to enable us to reach our goal.

Milk bottle top collection
The trustees are very disappointed to report that they have had to stop the collection of milk bottle tops for recycling. Companies that were initially contacted with a view to take the tops for recycling are no longer able to help us. It appears that the trustees were fed conflicting information regarding the recycling of these tops. Over a ton of tops have been collected and the trustees are very grateful for the support of everyone, schools, businesses, individuals, groups etc. who have collected the tops on their behalf. One firm has kindly agreed to take the tops off our hands and for this we are very grateful.
